The company Strizivojna Oak put into operation the first cogeneration plant in Croatia for the production of electricity and heat based on the combustion of biomass. The investment is worth 117 million, and Erste Bank, together with the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, financed around 70% of the entire investment. The company Strizivojna Hrast for many years engaged in the production of laminate flooring for domestic and foreign markets. Cogeneration plant development project is launched with the aim of producing their own electricity and heat, using resources from existing production (forest and wood biomass). The project co-generation company not only plans to achieve savings in energy costs and to increase its revenue from the sale of surplus electricity Croatian Energy Market Operator doo (HROTE), but plans to expand its product lines and the use of waste heat to increase the current capacity for drying wood elements for further processing. As a result of increasing production capacity, plans to increase the number of employees by about 20%.
